Sometimes, we do a little too much running about for our own good.

We try to do 100 things at once, we try to be in 100 places at once, and all we do is tie ourselves in knots.

Our message gets confused, we become overwhelmed, and we become exhausted.

And we accomplish very little.

Despite our best intentions, all we end up doing is burning up a lot of energy with very little return.

Not only that, we also give out a confused message to people and risk pushing away the very audience we are trying to connect with.

What about slowing down and doing things calmly instead?

Would that give us enough time to catch up with ourselves and give out a clearer message?

And get people to listen to us instead of running after them and trying to shove stuff down their ears?

Here is an example of what happens when you sit down.

At a recent, very busy FIBO, with meeting after meeting scheduled on my agenda, I had to sit down for a few minutes just to catch my breath.

When I did that, these 4 lovely ladies came up to me and sat down too.

We struck up a conversation immediately and we had a great tête-à-tête together!

I said tête-à-tête!!!!

It was one of my highlights of the day.

So it seems there is a lot to be said for applying the brakes.

The conversation comes right up to you and sits down too

A BodyForge shoutout to the gorgeous All Stars ladies who decided to spend their break with me! I guess I must have engaging conversation.

But it does go to show that the best results happen when you sit down and listen.

I think we have successfully made that one of the hallmarks of The BodyForge in the last few years.

It is probably one of the biggest reasons that our Re-Invention program is so successful.

Few people really take time to listen these days. Few people have time for others.

We dare to be different.

We listen. We try to understand.

It helps us when we try to be understood.

And it works!!

It changes lives!

Who’s next?

Rock your little hearts out my friends. Have a lovely week ahead!

I love being a Transformation Magician.

It’s honestly the best job on the planet.

I get to change people into the stuff of their dreams.

Granted, it is a constant work in progress and the journey never ends…but the places we visit along the way and the landmarks we see are absolutely amazing.

And the places we get to see are places that neither my clients nor I would ever have visited unless we walked the road together.

That’s what’s magic about my job.

It’s NEVER about the destination.

It’s ALL about the journey.

However, keep one thing in mind!

THE TOUGHEST PART ABOUT ANY JOURNEY IS ALWAYS THE STARTING OUT

In the beginning, just before the very first step you are still unaware of the benefits and kickbacks that this journey will give you.

You do not know the riches it will yield, the satisfaction it will bring and the accomplishments it will bear.

These benefits do not enter into your calculations simply because of your trepidations.

In the beginning, it is just a long, uncertain road.

You are full of the doubts the got you where you are in the first place, and the negativities instilled in you by others.

That’s not even counting the realization that this may be a long and hard trek that will kick your ass and possibly get the better of you.

You don’t know exactly what you are doing, where you are going, and whom it is best to trust.

The noise made by so many screaming “I’m the best, buy my shit!” is overwhelming and creates a plethora of confusion inside your mind and inside your heart.

Whom can you trust?

Whom can you believe?

Who is telling the truth?

Who is just taking you for a ride?

Who is only interested in taking your money and filling you with hot air?

AND WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS ANYWAY?

I remember starting my own journey, a long time ago.

I have been through all this myself.

I’ve had my head filled with nonsense. I’ve trusted the wrong people. I have believed outright lies disguised as concern.

I have let trainers train me into injuries that still niggle me to this day.

I have relied on people who shouldn’t be allowed to be in charge of taking out the garbage bags and been predictably and soundly reamed in the process.

I’ve spent money I could not afford on gallons of snake oil.

I’ve been rolled around, laughed at, drop kicked, screwed, and left to pick up the pieces.

Yes it has happened to me too.

So I know how tough it can get. I know first hand. I have been there. I know the pain, the uncertainty, the sadness, the inability to just stand up and start walking. And how bad it can be to put your faith in the wrong hands.

But then, every now and then, you will meet someone that is truly unforgettable.

Someone that makes a difference in your life, a difference so big and so absolute, you know your life will never be the same again.

People like this come in all shapes, sizes and forms. It could be a mentor, someone who will provide the experiences from his own journey to make yours a better one.

It could be a client, someone who, despite coming to you for a learning experience, will end up teaching you more than you ever expected, simply because their motivations and goals for a journey are different than yours.

Or it could be a chance meeting, a casual conversation with someone, that leads to other paths and other ways of thinking and viewing the world.

Whatever form it comes in, there is one constant you CANNOT do without.

You have to have the ability to decipher what you are given for what it is and make the best of it.

OR IS IT ALL JUST ABOUT LUCK?

Just yesterday, I was having a conversation about luck.

The person I was talking to was adamant that Luck played a great role in everyone’s lives.

Some people were luckier than others. That’s just the way it was. So they were richer, healthier and more prosperous than others.

Luck gave them all this.

Just like that. Because “Fate” took a fancy to you.

Give me a fucking break. Seriously.

Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.

If you are the sort who believes that everything we do is pre-determined by fate, then you must be leading a pretty sad life.

Because that would mean that we are in control of nothing and that any effort we put into our learning, our accomplishments and our ventures is senseless.

If our lives are already set, regardless of what we do, then we might as well do nothing at all, right?

What a terrible waste!

Someone once told me that most people miss tremendous opportunities because when Chance knocks on their front door, they are outside in their garden looking for four leaved clovers.

I think that is actually a damn neat way to sum up the failures all people go through.

Yes, even successful people were out in the garden looking for clovers at some point. While opportunity was bashing their front door off the hinges.

It is really the best way to miss out on getting things done by fooling yourself into thinking you have no control and you are doing what you can.

When you are really just wasting time, the most precious commodity you have in life.

As a coach and mentor, I have learnt along the way that one of the greatest disservices I can do a client is to ask them for less than their best, in some deluded way of reasoning that this will give them shelter.

It is something I used to do a long time ago, and I now know that it is an exercise in failure.

And in disrespect.

SO HERE IS THE WAY IT IS!

This is how we do things here.

We do not sell gym memberships.

We are not in the business of looking at wallets.

We deal with people. Real people. With real problems, and real issues and real pains.

Clients come to me so that I can help them and guide them in their journey towards a better version of themselves.

I take that job very seriously.

And not asking them for the best of themselves as an intrinsic part of our journey is one terrible way of failing a client.

Just as it would be if I did not give them 120% if I asked them for 100%.

I set the standard. I set the benchmark. If I do not practice what I preach, then why should I expect it from others?

So it is indeed a practice of tough love.

Change hurts. Change for the better is painful. It requires us to step out of our comfort zone.

Nothing will ever change if we stay in our zone.

If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.

But the one thing that makes change easier and a successful journey more probable, is walking the distance with a mentor that respects you and wants to see you succeed.

It makes a huge difference to have a helping hand to lift you up when you fall, a firm finger to point out all the potholes, and a strong shoulder to lean on when you get tired.

It makes all the difference between losing your way and keeping on walking, hitting milestone after milestone.

That is what all journeys should be about.

Thus, I make no apology about it.

I will get you out of your comfort zone. Actually, I will toss you out of it. I will ask you to do things you have never done and push you to test your limits in a way you have never done before.

But I will be beside you, helping you, every step of the way.

I will never leave you alone. Ever!

I will never disrespect you by asking you for less than your absolute best because I want to try to accommodate your complacency.

Does that make me tough?

I don’t see it that way.

I see it as a journey we undertake together.

I will always ask of myself far more than I will ever ask of you.

I have never failed someone who really wanted to succeed yet.

And I don’t plan to start anytime soon either.

So, if you want RIGHT NOW to be the turning point towards a better, more amazing version of YOU, just get in touch.

Let’s rock this together!!
